Saya menjalankan ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit). Tiba-tiba setelah reboot laptop saya tidak mendeteksi HDD. Setelah beberapa kali restart gagal mendeteksi HDD. Kemudian saya mengubah mode sata ke IDE dari AHCI di BIOS. Kemudian mendeteksi HDD lagi. Dan sekarang kinerja HDD sangat lambat. Saya menjalankan tes singkat di utilitas disk. Ini tidak menunjukkan kesalahan atau peringatan.

Alokasi Jumlah Sektor menampilkan 736 , Meskipun terutama digunakan sebagai metrik harapan hidup drive, jumlah ini juga mempengaruhi kinerja. Seiring peningkatan jumlah sektor yang dialokasikan ulang, kecepatan baca/tulis cenderung menjadi lebih buruk karena drive head terpaksa mencari ke area yang dicadangkan setiap kali remap diakses.
Jumlah Coba Putar Ulang menampilkan 202 Ini adalah jumlah percobaan ulang dari upaya start putaran. Atribut ini menyimpan jumlah total upaya awal putaran untuk mencapai kecepatan operasional penuh (dengan syarat bahwa upaya pertama tidak berhasil). Peningkatan nilai atribut ini merupakan tanda adanya masalah pada subsistem mekanis hard disk.
